Voice
Raised in the suburbs of Stockholm by Surinamese parents, singer and songwriter Graciela Chin A Loi shares her passion for music with her father, Don Pancho Chin A Loi, a pioneer of Cuban salsa and Caribbean music in Scandinavia. She began her professional journey at the age of sixteen, singing lead vocals in her father’s salsa band.
Graciela’s musical background is rich and diverse, blending neo-soul, jazz, gospel, and Latin-American influences, with her soulfully dynamic vocals at the forefront. She studied music at a high school in Stockholm and further honed her craft at RML and Betel music school.
In addition to her work as a composer and performer, Graciela teaches vocals in music schools and offers private lessons. She has been a guest artist at Södra Latin during its annual jazz festival and has written K-pop hits while collaborating with top Swedish artists and prominent jazz musicians in Sweden and the United States.
Graciela has received multiple grants from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee, STIM, and the Margot & Tobis Scholarship Foundation. Currently signed with Ropeadope Records, she continues to create music while adhering to her belief in serving music fully, inspired by the words of pianist Larry Willis: “If you take care of your music, it will take care of you.”
