Jakob Zimmermann, born in 2000 in Bludenz, Austria, is a pianist, composer, and producer currently studying at Jazzcampus Basel, Switzerland. His debut album “Resistance” by Jakob Zimmermann Trio was released in 2021. Notable accolades include winning the Young Master Scholarship at the Outreach Festival in 2014 and the Tyrolian Youth Jazz Prize in 2015.

Though largely self-taught, Zimmermann studied under renowned musicians like Michael Wolff, Pete Drungle, and Adam Holzman. While accepted at Manhattan School of Music in 2017, he chose not to attend. His trio and duo projects have performed at prestigious jazz festivals internationally, including Jazzfest Vienna and Südtirol Jazzfestival Alto Adige.

Zimmermann is actively engaged as a piano teacher, notably teaching refugees in Tirol, Austria, and working with private students, focusing on elevating their skills. He’s also a piano teacher at piano distributor piano.art e.U. Innsbruck. Additionally, he has experience with large ensembles such as Bludenz BigBand.

Beyond jazz, Zimmermann works as a music producer for film/media and collaborates with artists like rap artist Mr. Robbery and guitarist Waximilion. His YouTube channel boasts over a million views, and his Lo-Fi-Jazz productions on Spotify garner thousands of monthly listeners. His musical influences include Brad Mehldau, Tigran Hamasyan, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, and Herbie Hancock, as well as classical composers like J.S. Bach, Gustav Mahler, and Henryk Gorecki.
