Manukrishnan, born in Kochi, Kerala, hails from a family deeply rooted in traditional Carnatic Music. He began his musical journey at five under his father’s tutelage in Carnatic vocals and later learned Mridangam. Fascinated by drums’ versatility, he picked it up at fifteen, swiftly gaining recognition for his unique approach.
In 2015, he earned a Diploma in Music Performance with a scholarship for innovation at Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music. Manukrishnan is renowned in the Indian music scene since 2006, contributing to various bands and collaborating with notable artists. His precision, versatility, and relentless dedication have cemented his status as an internationally acclaimed drummer.
Currently, he is an integral part of various bands, including Jatayu, Many Things, Chaos, and Escher’s Knot. He has also worked alongside renowned artists such as Masala Coffee, The F16s, Baiju Dharmajan, The Down Troddence, Sanah Moidutty, and The Casteless Collective among others.
