Mateusz Szewcyzk

Mateusz Szewcyzk is a highly skilled bass player with 14 years of experience in both acoustic and electric bass, showcasing versatility across genres like acoustic jazz and fusion. Notable albums featuring him include “Between” (Marcin Pater Trio), “Another Brooklyn” (Sam Levin Trio), and “Nothing But Trouble” (Marcin Pater Trio).

He has earned recognition in competitions, winning the Grand Prix at the Jazz Juniors Festival in 2018 and the Jazz Nad Odrą Festival in 2020. Additional accolades include Best Band at the Sibiu Jazz Festival in 2017.

Mateusz has achieved significant milestones, including two major concert tours in Asia and a long-standing collaboration with the Voicingers Festival as both a musician and tutor since 2015.

His educational background includes a Master’s in Double Bass from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in 2020, and he has received a scholarship for exceptional students. Mateusz has also undertaken private instruction, including a course with New York-oriented bass player Or Bareket and lessons with Michał Barański, contributing to his well-rounded musical expertise.
