Sarp Maden, born in Istanbul in 1968, began playing guitar at 15 and is largely self-taught. He honed his skills with jazz harmony under Berklee graduate Ali Perret. Since the early ’90s, he has been a prominent figure in the Turkish jazz scene, performing extensively worldwide including in countries like the USA, France, and Germany. He has taught at institutions such as Bilgi University and Bosphorus University, and currently teaches at Akademi Istanbul and EFMI. Notable albums he has contributed to include “Acid Trippin'” (1996) and “Lodos” (1997). Maden has collaborated with numerous artists and bands, showcasing his versatile guitar and harmony expertise across diverse musical projects.
