Vatsal Bakhda

Classically trained pianist, Vatsal studied under Roshen Gazder, LRSM for over 10 years, and Suddhaseel Sen (Ph.D. in Musicology) for 2 years. He also eventually had the opportunity to study under Pedro Carneiro Silva and Gabriel Geszti at Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music, and placed first in academics in all three semesters of study. Vatsal is currently learning from Aman Mahajan. He also has had the opportunity to learn from Shai Maestro and Sharik Hasan, who are currently based out of New York.

Vatsal has been playing various styles such as Jazz, Funk, Latin, Brazilian, RnB/Soul, Pop, Fusion, Blues, which also was means to becoming a regular performing and a versatile pianist.

Vatsal is also part of a number of projects, such as Submarine in Space, Toto Tribute Band, HIIGH, Roulette, Be Right Back, Lucia and the Fellowship and Soliloquy to name a few. Being a very active session player in the Delhi music scene, Vatsal has also had the opportunity to work with musicians across the world and play in festivals such as the NH7 Weekender and Magnetic Fields to name a few. Vatsal is currently working on an album with Submarine in Space, Be Right Back, and Soliloquy, his Piano trio.
